Kiev
I found a really great deal on a Soviet style hotel built in the mid 1980s named the Hotel Salute. The hotel looks similar to a spaceship. Here is an article about the hotel & photo that I took.

I stayed on the 6th floor & had a great view of the river and nearby park.
I had seen many of the main tourist sights on my last trip, so I revisited a few of my favorites along with going on a walking tour. I ate several meals at Puzata Hata which is my favorite Ukrainian place for inexpensive food.
The city is getting ready for the Eurovision singing competition that takes place in a few weeks, so there was painting going on everywhere and landscape work being done in the major pedestrian areas. Overall my visit to Kiev was good and it was a good start to my trip except for an issue with my ATM card which required 2 calls back to the US to get fixed.
